Middle Ages:<\/strong><\/p>

Biai Fish Pond has a history of more than 1000 years. The lake is mentioned for the first time in a deed dated 1192, which then bore the name \"Sceledtou\", i.e. Lake Szel\u00edd. According to the maps, the lake with a smaller area than today was located next to the village.<\/p>

New Age:<\/strong><\/p>

The lake functioned as a fishpond in the 18th century, but as a result of water regulation and siltation in the 19th century, it was used as a pasture. Two canals led through the dried-up meadow, which were named K\u00edgy\u00f3s and B\u00e9k\u00e1s streams, and they still feed the fish farm today.<\/p>

XX. century<\/strong><\/p>

After the First World War, the Halbizom\u00e1nyi \u00e9s Hal\u00e9rt\u00e9kes\u00edt\u0151 Rt., established in 1922, dammed the valley in the place of the already drained Lake Bia, and created an artificial fish pond again.<\/p>

In 1945, after the nationalizations, the Tata Fish Farm, and from 1968 the Tata State Farm took over the management of the water and fish farming.<\/p>

In the 1970s, dredging and rearrangement followed again. As a result of continuous damming, the lake expanded by nearly 54 hectares, thus becoming the largest stillwater fish farm in the Zs\u00e1mb\u00e9ki basin. It was then that the current dams and sluice systems were created, which divide the current water mass into 5 parts (- today's lakes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were created). In 1990, the fish ponds became the property of TEHAG from Sz\u00e1hahalombatta.<\/p>

After the dissolution of TEHAG, BIA-TEHAG Kft., under a new name BIAFISH Kft. since June 2022 , manages the lake unit, except for the upper lake number four. The upper (27-hectare) lake, known as Arizona Carp Lake, offers recreational opportunities for those who wish to do so as a large-fish fishing lake.<\/p>

BIAFISH Kft. is owned by a second-generation fish farming family, which is a guarantee that extensive fish production will take place on the lakes in the future, in harmony with nature, providing a peaceful habitat for the fauna living here.<\/p>
